Kanye vs. Cudi – Dark Twisted Fantasy of Mr. Rager
Kanye West made his debut in 2004 with his first album The College Dropout. Since 2004 he has had his various ups and downs, nonetheless I have always thought he was an unbelievable artist. I was wrong. Unbelievable does not even nearly cut it for his latest album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, as a matter of fact, I am at a loss because I cannot even think of a word to describe the sensation of this album. After Kanye humiliated himself while destroying Taylor Swift’s moment at the VMA’s in 2009 I was thoroughly disappointed, because I was not sure he would be able make a comeback. However, I am pretty sure anyone who was bitter toward Kanye before, has lost all resentment after listening to tracks like Runaway, and Monster. Yeah Kanye! Look how far you have come in 6 short years!
Wait a second! Just before Kanye’s latest album was released the beloved rapper Kid Cudi released his second album Man on the Moon II: the Legend of Mr. Rager. Cudi told us that in his first album (Man on the Moon) he was bringing the listener into his dreams; in MotM2 he is showing us his reality. Cudi only stepped onto the scene in 2009 with his hit single that topped the charts, Day N’ Night. Now I knew this young man was going to be big, he obviously has talent and passion in his music, but I did not think he was going to become so big, so fast!! This new album is one of the only albums I have ever owned that I can honestly say I listen to every track and truly enjoy each and every one. Talk about rising to fame, this young artist has risen to the top in only a few short years, and who knows what he will bring to the table next! Seems to me the talent this artist has is unlimited, definitely one to watch ;).
